Safe Stove Range Hood Cleaning

When it comes to the heart of your restaurant’s operation, nothing is more of a core component than the stoves that you use. Range hood cleaning is something that should be done every few months. Range hoods and fans are responsible for removing grease and moisture, and this buildup needs to be removed for optimal performance.

Ammonia and ammonia-based cleansers are the best way to remove grease, but be sure not to use abrasive scouring powder cleansers. Ask your restaurant cleaning service about the best type of cleansers to use. You should also make sure to wash the light bulbs inside of the range in cool water in order to remove buildup that can dull the light.

If your hood has a metal filter, be sure to remove it and soak it in warm soapy water and dry it thoroughly before replacing it. Some oven range fans have charcoal filters, which cannot be cleaned and need to be replaced. These can be purchased from the same company that manufactures your particular brand of oven.

Regular range hood cleaning is the best way to prevent grease fires and to extend the life of your stove.
