Eco Friendly San Diego Restaurant Cleaning Tips

Is your San Diego restaurant environmentally friendly? If you aren’t sure, then the chances are good that it probably is not.  Eco friendly cleaning practices take work and planning, but are well worth the effort in the long run.  You have a responsibility to make sure that your restaurant does not contribute to the problem of over pollution and over contamination of local resources.

  • Other than proper disposal of waste water, which is absolutely crucial, you should also make sure that when cleaning enclosures, out door seating areas, or trash cans and using bleach or other harsh chemicals, never let these chemicals drain into the parking lot, street , or gutter.
  • When spills happen, use a dry removal method, like spreading cat litter on the floor, instead of automatically rinsing spills and subsequently sending the spill into the storm drain.
  • Clean your grease traps once a week to prevent build up
  • Always dispose of grease properly.  Do not pour it into gutters or sewers
  • Send bulk grease to be recycled into bio-fuel
  • Use eco-friendly, environmentally safe cleaning products as alternatives to harsh chemicals whenever possible.

These are just some of the many ways that you, your employees, and your San Diego restaurant cleaning service, can do your part for the environment.
