Cleaning Your Marble Tile Floor

Marble is a beautiful stone that can add character and aesthetic value to any surface. It is also a very soft, very porous stone and must be cleaned and maintained carefully and often. Follow these tips to help keep your marble floor looking its best, and don’t forget to ask your cleaning service for further, more specialized tips.

Since marble is so porous you should make sure to protect it with a sealant and apply it as recommended by the manufacturer to keep your floor protected.

Use only a neutral, specialized cleaning solution to clean your marble. Use a soft cloth and wipe up any spills as soon as they occur. For stain removal,  specialized, Ph-neutral products are also available.

If you have cultured marble, it is still important to use a special Ph neutral cleaner in order to keep your stone protected and keep it from loosing its luster and shine.

Use only a soft mop to clean your floors-never a mop with a hard scrubbing head. This can create scuff marks and other damage to the marble.

These are just some of the ways that you can keep your marble floors looking their best for years to come.
